To celebrate its 30th anniversary as a listed UNESCO World Heritage site, the Pont du Gard chose to explore the concept of heritage and the values of humanism and universalism, as embodied in the works of Josef Koudelka (from Magnum agency). Between 1991 and 2015, the celebrated French-Czech photographer completed a long journey through twenty countries bordering the Mediterranean, resulting in a comprehensive photographic record of historical vestiges.
The exhibition includes 21 large-format, panoramic photos and 37 stand-mounted photos, scattered here and there like ruins. Scenographer Sylvie del Percio applied Printed Bannerdrape room dividers by ShowTex to separate Koudelka’s work adding an element of transparency to the sleek and stylish design of the exhibition.
