ShowTex Hong Kong supplied a custom curved front projection screen for Frozen Planet in Concert by the Singapore Symphony Orchestra at the Esplanade Concert Hall. The curved Screen Frame was bent to the shape of the orchestra pit on stage, which accommodated the 80-member orchestra and allowed for images to be projected in-sync with the performance.
The projection material chosen was FP SuperMat, which was ideal due to its well-balanced gain. The smooth and matt surface of the PVC screen provided crisp and high-quality images. As the screen is a portable solution, it can be set up in six hours whenever required.
Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay is Singapore’s national performing arts centre and one of the busiest arts centres in the world. In March 2014, Esplanade’s Concert Hall was listed as one of the “world’s 15 most beautiful concert halls” by Hamburg-based building data company Emporis.
