Dubai Shopping Festival

With more than 3 million visitors the 18th annual Dubai Shopping Festival wrapped up another successful edition. The popular month long event kicked off on New Year’s Eve. The opening ceremony at Dubai Creek was a spectacular sound and light show celebrating the city’s culture and heritage followed by fireworks.

ShowTex supplied a multitude of water, fire and windproof solutions durable enough to last throughout the month of festivities without losing any show value on the night of the big event. The largest fabric screen measured 8m high x an enormous 250m wide. Two additional screens measured 17m high x 35m wide.

15 smaller Stretchtulle screens were installed in the fountain lake to backdrop acrobatic performances. ShowTex also custom made 32 fabric projector covers for waterproofing. The entire project made use of new screen attachment techniques adjusted to the wind and weather conditions to keep fabrics perfectly tensioned.
