Remember those childhood days when you played with paper boats, their delicate shapes floating on imaginary oceans? Today, you’ll set foot into the Foochow Naval theatre, where immersive projections on scrims let you relive that nostalgia again. Set sail on a journey of stunning visuals and captivating performances.
Projection mapping on various projection textiles
The plot unfolds on a visually seamless cyclorama, vividly showing the history of Foochow Naval College. As the drama builds up, a perfectly timed push of a button triggers multiple Kabuki systems at the time. Suddenly, the projection canvas drops and whirls down gracefully. What a scene change!
But there is more projection magic, as transparent projection gauzes and scrims create amazing hologram effects that the performers interact with. The audience is even immersed in a 360° spectacle by mounting a large PepperScrim in a box shape with three invisible sharkstooth gauzes.
HiSpeed roll-up systems smoothly change the scene
From mobile seats to shifting scenes, the theatre used over 300 sets of machinery to enhance the viewing experience. And ShowTex's reveal systems were the missing link the designers needed to complete the effect. Using motorized roll-up systems to raise and lower the projection scrims, they set the tone for each new act. An immersive experience as it should be!
